Scripture: Psalm 23:1-3 (NLT)
“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.”
Reflection:
In a world that glorifies busyness, Psalm 23 invites us to slow down and find rest in God’s presence. As our Shepherd, God provides for our needs and guides us to places of peace and restoration. Jesus echoed this in Matthew 11:28, inviting us to come to Him when we’re weary and find rest for our souls. Resting in God isn’t just about physical relaxation but about trusting Him with our burdens and finding renewal in His love. Like David, who faced trials yet found comfort in God’s care, we too can experience His peace when we surrender our worries to Him.
Application:
Set aside 10 minutes today for quiet time with God. Find a peaceful spot, read Psalm 23, and meditate on God as your Shepherd. Journal one worry you’re carrying and offer it to Him in prayer, trusting Him to provide and renew you.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for being my Shepherd. Help me to rest in Your presence and trust You with my burdens. Renew my strength and guide me to Your peace today. Amen.
